Health Professional,
We would like to introduce you to a new therapeutic agent who has a variety of uses in both human and
veterinary medicine. Rarely does a product have such a wide variety of uses while being totally benign to
living autogenous tissues. Although hydrolytic enzymes have been available to health practitioners for
several decades, none has possessed all the pharmacodynamics necessary to qualify them as broad-use and
safe therapeutic agents. Pure pharmaceutical grade plant source concentrated proteases will now provide
the opportunity for the health practitioner to utilize enzyme therapy effectively and safely for a variety
of disorders in conjunction with conventional therapies.
First, we would like to describe some of the unique pharmacodynamics of pharmaceutical
grade plant source proteases. (P.G.P.S.P.):
1. P.G.P.S.P. are able to hydrolyze non-viable autogenous and foreign proteins in most body tissues.
The study of tissue availability is ongoing.
2. P.G.P.S.P., in specific products, are both acid and alkaline stable, thus allowing them to function
regardless of pH.
3. Due to their ability to survive at all pH levels, these proteases enter the upper intestinal tract
and are quickly absorbed into circulation and achieve therapeutic tissue level according to dosage.
4. Once in available tissues, P.G.P.S.P. will begin to hydrolyze foreign (non-self) proteins present in
those tissues. Such action aids the immune system as well as the reticuloendothelial system in removing
inflammatory or metabolic proteinaceous wastes materials from affected tissues.
5. P.G.P.S.P. assist cellular immunity proteases in their attempt to hydrolyze viral, bacterial, fungal,
and parasitic organisms in both soft tissues and the circulatory system.
6. P.G.P.S.P. are considered to be very strong antioxidants, which attack free radicals.
Upon examination of the pharmacodynamics of P.G.P.S.P., we would ask that each health
practitioner consider the myriad of disorders, which could benefit from such a therapeutic product.
P.G.P.S.P. have been used successfully as adjunctive therapy in demodicosis, acral lick
granulomas, intradigital cyst syndromes, discoid lupus, seborrheas, and allergic dermatoses. Protease
therapy has consistently shortened the course of the disorder and improved the condition beyond the ability
of conventional therapy alone.
Based on such empirical evidence as well as the pharmacodynamics of the product, adjunctive
therapy with P.G.P.S.P. should be considered in the following conditions:
1. skin disorders where debris clean-up or immune system assistance is desirable,
2. any disorder in which pathogenic fibrosis is occurring,
3. intracellular infections in which circulating protease may assist cellular immunity,
4. chronic viral or parasitic diseases where enhancement of cellular immunity is desired,
5. chronic renal sclerosis and acute nephritis of inflammatory or toxic origin,
6. hepatic disease or cirrhosis,
7. food allergy and atopic dermatitis,
8. patients who tend to develop various organ calculi,
9. immunosuppressed patients,
10. inflammatory bowel disorders,
11. any condition in which the glycoprotein amyloid is accumulating within specific tissues,
12. neoplastic disease where removal of necrotic tissue and enhancement of cellular immunity is desired,
13. autoimmune diseases where tissue clean-up and antioxidant action is desirable,
14. Any condition associated with pathologic circulating immune complexes.
P.G.P.S.P. are considered to be nutritional supplements by the F.D.A. and are considered totally safe for administration in most any condition. One exception would be any patient with active bleeding ulcers in the G-I tract. Both dosage and administration do require some knowledge concerning proper use of protease.
Since P.G.P.S.P. have extremely high safety margins, their empirical use in conjunction with conventional therapies; should be desirable in a variety of diseases and disorders.
