Proven Success in Sales and Sales Management.
Don began to pursue his dreams as a young man while serving his country. He became an instructor at the prestigious Air Force Recruiting School where he created sales and public speaking courses. He received numerous awards and decorations as a Master Instructor, while teaching a wide variety of students from Non-Commissioned Officers to Generals.
After the military.
In 1983-85 as a Manager in the automobile industry, Don not only implemented new programs but led his company to many new sales records including leading the nation in sales for 18 consecutive months. In 1995, he became partner and CEO of a nutritional distribution company and, once again, led the country in sales.
Constantly training to excel.
In order to enhance his speaking and to provide insightful, creative formats for his presentations, Don has worked in numerous entertainment industries. His acting career has spanned over 25 years and his credits include commercials, industrial films and movies. Another dream became a reality when he became a stand-up comedian and a headliner on the comedy circuit. Don also hosted a call-in radio show entitled "Don Varney’s Positive World" and presently hosts "Billboards" on KSLR in San Antonio.
Never quit pursuing your dreams.
Don a life long athlete who won a national championship as an outfielder with the Lackland Warhawks thought his career in sports was over.But then given the chance to compete again he fulfilled another life-long dream when he played Tight End for the USIFL Champions, the San Antonio Stampede, at the age of 52.
Don then became the Chaplain and Assistant Coach for the NAFL’s San Antonio Thunder (Professional Minor League Football). This coaching staff was selected to the NAFL Coaching All-Star List for 2001.
Inspirational .
Don is well known in the San Antonio as a businessman with integrity and a "Get It Done" attitude. During the past, he has given freely of his time by speaking to youth groups. He believes that if young people hear about positive life principles, they can live them. Don truly believes in practicing what he teaches.
